Terms and conditions
The terms every job runs on
Every job Silicon Oasis Car Battery takes on is covered by the terms below. Booking a job, whether by phone, by WhatsApp or via this website, means you accept them.
We test before we replace
The technician starts by testing the battery and the charging system, and the test is free. A battery that passes is left in the car and no new one is sold. Where the cause is something else, such as the starter motor, the alternator or the wiring, we tell you what we found. On your request we can then arrange recovery to a garage of your choosing, charged at our published recovery rate.
Prices and quotes
Prices shown on this website are in UAE dirhams (AED). They include VAT and they include fitting. Which battery your vehicle takes determines the price, so we quote after you give us the make, model and year, and the amount quoted is the amount you pay.
A quote is never increased by a call-out fee, a night rate or a weekend rate. Should the technician find on arrival that the car needs something other than what was quoted, you are given the revised price first, and no work starts until you have decided.
Estimated arrival
Any arrival time we give is an estimate. It reflects where our technicians are at that moment and ordinary traffic conditions. For Silicon Oasis the usual figure is about 20–35 minutes, and this is not a guarantee. Traffic, weather and other jobs can all move it. When that happens we tell you without delay.
Paying for the job
Payment falls due when the work is complete and the engine has started. At the car we accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Tabby and Tamara are accepted for payment in instalments. Business customers with an account on agreed terms are invoiced monthly.
Warranty cover
The warranty runs for up to 24 months. The length depends on the brand and range of battery fitted. We confirm the exact term when the battery goes in and record it against the vehicle's plate number.
Covered: manufacturing defects and capacity that fades earlier than it should. Not covered: physical damage; connections made the wrong way round; deep discharge resulting from a fault that we reported and that was not repaired; batteries fitted by someone other than us; and use of the battery for a purpose it was not sold for.
A valid claim gets a free replacement, fitted where the car is. If the vehicle changes owner, the warranty goes with it.
Reaching the vehicle and working safely
It is your responsibility to see that the technician can get to the car. That means telling building or community security that we are coming and arranging entry to the basement, car park, garage, driveway or bay where the vehicle stands. We will decline to work in unsafe conditions. Examples are a lane with moving traffic, standing water, and a battery that is visibly damaged or leaking.
Cancelling a booking
There is no charge for cancelling before the technician reaches you. There is also no charge if you cancel once we have arrived, provided work has not begun.
Limits of our liability
We stand behind the quality of our work and the parts we supply. Our responsibility does not extend to faults already present before we attended, to indirect losses such as a missed appointment or lost income, or to damage caused by any other party who worked on the vehicle before or after our visit.
Your rights under UAE consumer protection law are unaffected by anything in these terms.
Applicable law and courts
The laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied in the Emirate of Dubai, govern these terms. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the Dubai courts.
