Key points
- Small hatchbacks and saloons take the cheapest batteries. Large SUVs and European start-stop cars take the most expensive.
- AGM and EFB batteries for start-stop cars cost more than standard ones and cannot be swapped for a cheaper type.
- A fitted quote should cover the battery, fitting, a charging-system test, removal of the old battery and the warranty.
- We do not charge a call-out fee, and the price at night is the same as during the day.
What decides the price of a car battery
- Size and capacity. A battery is priced largely by how much lead is in it. A 45Ah unit for a small hatchback costs far less than a 100Ah unit for a full-size SUV.
- Technology. Standard flooded batteries are the cheapest, EFB sits in the middle and AGM is the most expensive. Start-stop cars need EFB or AGM.
- Brand. Premium brands cost more than value brands. Cover is up to 24 months on every brand we fit.
- Registration. Many European cars need the new battery registered with the car's computer. A proper fitted quote includes that step.
This is why a price quoted without knowing the car is only a guess. Two cars of the same make can take batteries that differ in price by several hundred dirhams.

Prices are in AED and include VAT. Where your car falls inside a band depends on the exact battery it takes.
What a fitted price should include
- The battery itself, new and sealed.
- Fitting where the car is parked, with the terminals cleaned.
- A test of the old battery and the alternator before anything is replaced.
- Registration or coding of the new battery where the car requires it.
- A charging-voltage check after fitting.
- Removal and recycling of the old battery.
- A written warranty.
Our quote is one figure that covers the battery, the fitting, the test, the recycling of the old unit and the warranty. There is no call-out fee, and the price at three in the morning is the price at noon.
Is the cheapest battery the best value?
Not always. What you are paying for in a dearer battery is build: heavier plates, better heat resistance, or the AGM and EFB construction a start-stop car needs. For a small car used gently, a value brand of the correct size does the job. For a large SUV, a start-stop car or a car that sits for weeks, the stronger battery usually works out cheaper than replacing a weak one early.
The cheapest sensible battery is the one that matches the car's specification. Under-sizing to save money leads to slow starts and an early second purchase.
How to get an exact price
- Send the make, model and year, or a photo of the label on the battery fitted now.
- Say where the car is parked, so the arrival time can be given with the price.
- You receive the fitted price for the correct battery, often with a choice of brands.
Payment is made after the work is done: cash, card or Apple Pay, or four instalments through Tabby or Tamara.
